Festival of Colors

On Saturday a few friends and I went to the Festival of Colors. You can read more about what it is here. Lots of people, lots of color and lots of fun.

Happy Birthday Little Brother!

Happy birthday to (one of) the best little brothers ever!! You seriously couldn't ask for better brothers than I have! When I think of Ty I think smart, funny, dependable, hard worker and one of the first people I turn to when things are hard or good. Happy birthday little brother!

A Little Sunday Pick Me Up

I came across this video of a talk Elder Busche gave at BYU. You can read the full talk here. This video is only part of the talk and is so packed full of INCREDIBLE advice. Here are a few of my favorite thoughts from him but seriously it is worth watching/reading the whole thing.

* When you are compelled to give up something or when things that are dear to you are withdrawn from you, know that this is your lesson to be learned right now. But know also that, as you are learning this lesson, God wants to give you something better.

* When you are physically sick, tired, or in despair, steer your thoughts away from yourself and direct them, in gratitude and love, toward God.

* God knows better than you what you need. He always attempts to speak to you. Listen, and follow the uncomfortable suggestions that he makes to us--everything will fall into its place.

* If someone hurts you so much that your feelings seem to choke you, forgive and you will be free again.

* The pain of sacrifice lasts only one moment. It is the fear of the pain of sacrifice that makes you hesitate to do it.

ABC's of ME!

I know, you're probably sick of hearing about me after the 30 day challenge, but it's my blog so what else am I gonna write about:) I saw this on another blog and it's so much easier for me to post if I have a topic/starter given to me. Sorry, no pictures this time. Too tired. I blame report cards/parent teacher conferences.

A-Age: 29 and no don't ask me how I feel about my next birthday.

B-Bed size: Queen and it's mine all mine!

C-Chore you hate: Cleaning bathrooms. Ugh! I would rather do ANYTHING else, but don't worry, my bathrooms are always clean.

D-Dogs: Love them, can't commit to one right now.

E-Essential start to your day: Shower. Don't talk to me until I've had one.

F-Favorite Color: Used to be blue but the past few years I've really been loving red. No, it has nothing to do with the football team I cheer for, that's just a plus!

G-Gold or Silver: Hands down silver. Sorry for you gold lovers, but blah!

H-Height: I recently found out I was an inch and a half taller than I thought. 5'8 1/2" - who would've thought.

I-Instruments you play: Um, none at all. I really wish I did play the piano. I had a brief stint with the recorder in college:)

J-Job title: Awesome 1st grade teacher! Yes, awesome is part of the job title.

K-Kids: Unless you count the 23 I spend so much time with, none.

L-Live: Utah - The one place I said I'd never live but love.

M-My mom's name: Suzanne

N-Nickname: Kase, sis, supercocky (only Ericka has permission for that one).

O-Overnight hospital stay: So far, never!

P-Pet Peeve: I already posted those in one of the 30 day challenge posts. Today though, it's slacker people.

Q-Quote from a movie: So not a movie quoter.

R-Right/Lefty: Righty

S-Sibling: Mandy, Tyrel, Chance - best ones ever!

T-Time you wake up: Usually around 6:30. Blah!

U-Underwear: That crazy Mormon underwear:)

V-Veggies you dislike: Artichokes. Puke!



W-What makes you run late: I am such an on time person and in fact running late is a pet peeve but this year the dang snow has done it to me a few times. Scraping it off my car and slow driving. Snow and I no longer have a good relationship.

X-Xrays you've had: Does the dentist count? Cause that's it for me.

Y-Yummy food you make: What food isn't yummy that I make? Just kidding. Baked potato soup, cookies, all sorts of stuff.

Z-Zoo animal: Good question. Probably giraffes.

Day 30 - My hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days!

I have no idea what's going to happen in my life in the next year. I've learned that things can change in an instant and without any warning, no matter what I have planned. The last 365 days were pretty crazy and full of BIG changes so my only hope, dream or plan for the next 365 days is to be happy with whatever is going on in my life.
